(07/05/12) What's in a name?

We are a couple that names their vehicles. We both grew up in families that had vehicles with such character that they begged for names: The War Wagon and The Tank (George), Das Boat,  Brown Betsy, Bluebell and Das Junker (me). My red Subaru was “Red Rocket”. George’s old white Chevy Malibu was “Malibu Barbie”. My blue Toyota Celica is “baby”. The new Toyota Spyder is “Peter Parker” (which is still being hotly contested). Our Subaru Forester is either “The Truck” or “Suboobaroo”. So of course, the Joey is needing a name…

We are not going to just use “Joey” because everyone can do that, it’s not original and I typically don’t use people’s names for vehicles. George has suggested a number of choices: Turd (like in the movie, RV, starring Robin Williams), Booger and Nugget. George is such a BOY. Sigh. I thought that last one was particularly inventive – nugget, as in butt! Not happening!

Backpack would be appropriate and it is about that size… Any suggestions? This conversation is not over!
